Well, I promised the address of my new blog and here it is:

I wanted something a little more user friendly for posting photos. Go and check it out!
My time flies! Haven't been around here in a while. Actually, I have a new blog where it's easier to upload photos. Will post the link to it soon. We are enjoying summer around here. Hot weather came very early this year.. great for spending time at the pool. B enjoys her summer daycamp and I'm wishing that I was at home this summer. I love my work, don't get me wrong! Working during the school year didn't bother me, but during the summer, for some reason it really does. Maybe it's because my friend up the street is off for the summer and I know we could hang out more if I were home.
Back to B's activities: She's started tennis lessons and drama lessons. Art camp is next week and the week after is Vacation Bible School. I would like to sign her up for horseback riding lessons, but I think that may be too much.
We had a great time at Disney... B walked almost the entire time and didn't complain. She was having too much fun!
We are trying to plan a trip with our friends to Florida for a week at the beach next month. Gotta get a week at the beach every summer!
That's about it right now!
Hi! Looks like I haven't been around here in a while. Truth be told: I bought a new laptop and refuse to visit Mindsay while I'm using it. I believe I've picked up a bit of spyware or a virus or two from Mindsay and I don't want to infect my new computer, so I just check in here when I'm using my old desktop-- which is seldom!
Update on us: Hardwoods are finally being installed on Wednesday. After numerous delays, it looks like it will finally happen. And what is it about home improvements? Once I start with one thing, I just want to continue with everything else and get it done all at once. The color of my den walls, which never really bothered me before, now is in urgent need of changing. The kitchen needs new countertops, the master bath MUST have the wallpaper removed and then have a coat of paint, etc, etc. I'm a madwoman!
B had a soccer game today. It was her second game and I must say that I was so proud! She's improved dramatically and has actually gotten agressive with the ball. She scored twice and assisted with another. The coach even commented on how well she played today. It's a miracle that she doesn't whine about the heat and the actual exertion, because let me tell ya', she can be such a diva, but not one wimper or complaint. She played her heart out in the scorching heat with the rest of the kids, and finished with a beet red face like everyone else.
Grad school is approaching-- begins August 19th. I am not planning on trying to teach, have office hours, take three classes, run B around with her activities, take care of everything around the house and work another job on top of it all. Nope... let's just face reality. It's not gonna work out for me to keep my real estate office job, as much as I like it. We discussed it in the office the other day, because my job share co-worker has been having health issues with suspected endometriosis. She's missed a lot of work going to doctors or staying home from pain. She has surgery scheduled for next week. Consequently, I've been working full time hours and know that I can't continue that. So we are now on the lookout for another employee, so that we can get her trained before I leave and just have some relief help with the phones during vacations etc.
My dh is still working in N.O. off and on. I like it b/c the consulting pay is quite good and we've managed to save up a substantial amount. Not quite sure how to invest it or what we want to do with it just yet. There's also the possibility that they will get another project in N.O. involving a larger sum of money. I don't really know what he's going to do at the moment. I almost wish that they would get the project-- it would be great for us financially. Granted, he would be going back and forth as he is now, so that is a negative. Only time will tell.
We leave for Disney in two weeks. Hard to believe that B will be out of school then. First year of "real" school under her belt. We tour her new school next week on a field trip.
Hope you all had a great Easter. We did the usual: egg hunts and church and Easter dinner with family. I feel very blessed!
Grandma and I hunted eggs for most of the afternoon. Can ya' tell that B is into hiding them more than hunting them?
Easter dinner: Ham (MIL wanted to cook a lamb shank, but FIL is still sick and queasy from his heart meds), asparagus, squash casserole, fresh green beans/potatoes, homemade mac-n-cheese and homemade chocolate pie. I made the pie and greenbeans. All was yummy!
B was thouroughly spoiled with her goodies from Grandma and Granpa as well as the Easter Bunny. I always buy too much stuff! Then it ends up as little pieces of junk plastic strewn about the house. Argh!
Work is good- slow and I thought this was supposed to be the busy season. It could be the market (don't think so) or it could be just our office. I'm looking so forward to grad school in the fall and yet I'm enjoying my time and freedom right now. Right now I can read anything I want and not feel guilty! I recently read Memiors of a Geisha. Very good! Now I want to see the movie. I thought that the book was very enlightening-- a glimpse into a culture that I know nothing about. I'm still exhausted from staying up until the wee hours of the morning reading though. Can't seem to put a good book down!
Believe it or not, our neighborhood pool opened last Saturday and B has been swimming twice already! We've had really hot weather this past week- up into the high 80's.
I'm joining a bunco group this week-- looking forward to meeting some other women.
My dh and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary tomorrow! Hard to believe & it makes me feel freakin' old!
We're planning a weekend getaway for two nights while my mom keeps B.
Guess that's all for now!
I love days off of work! The weather is nice and warm. By 10:30 am we had ridden bicycles up and down the street, talked with neighbors, and made sugar cookies. Now B is in the bath and after that we'll run some errands.
I'm in the midst of getting quotes and samples for hardwood flooring for our den, diningroom, and hallway. No simple task when the showrooms have like 500 samples to choose from! I think we've narrowed it down to a beautiful teak that's a bit darker than we'd planned but tons prettier than the oak.
Have a great day!
